In Transcarpathia starts monthly voluntary surrender of illegal weapons arsenals

On April 1, Transcarpathia, as well as throughout the state, starting month voluntary surrender of weapons. During this time, the owners of illegal arsenals have the opportunity to takeweapons and ammunition, avoiding prosecution. However, most weapons can be registered as prescribed by law. As head of the permit system emphasizes the Carpathian Police Major Michael chaff, for illegal possession of weapons law, including st.263 Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (possession, storage, purchasing, manufent, repair, transfer or sale of firearms, ammunition, explosives or explosive devices without statutory authority) provides for punishment of imprisonment for a term of two to five years. However, according to part 3 of the same article of the Criminal Code is exempt from criminal liability a person who voluntarily surrendered conus government weapons, ammunition, explosives or explosive devices.
