In Zhytomyr experts discussed the reform of secondary education

During the roundtable, presented the results of a survey of parents, teachers and principals conducted by the Fund "Democratic initsiatyvy Ilko Kucheriv "at the initiative of Foundation" Institute for Education Development "and MF" Renaissance "on the reform of secondary education. According to the survey, the overwhelming number of surveyed parents, teachers and principals evaluated the quality of secondary education in Ukraine average. In particular, 50% of parents are satisfied with their opportunities to influence the ptan management in schools. However, about a third of all parents surveyed recognize that there are virtually no part in school life. As Director of parents and teachers do not support the initiative to introduce a 12-year system of secondary education. "Innovations are seen teachers still in disbelief. Teachers do not support the 12-year-oldeducation system, the introduction of 3-stage system in high school, consolidation ungraded schools ", - said Irina Bekeshkina. According to her, there is a positive statistic - almost half of the teachers agreed to undergo licensing as one of the conditions for increasing their wages. According to the survey, among the priority reforms and initiativesthat could help teachers to work better, the majority of surveyed teachers and principals mentioned the need to improve the technical level of the school and the need to change the approach to teacher pay. Chairman of the parliamentary committee on science and education Lilia Grinevich said that the reform has a chance of success only if it is supportedteachers and school principals and parents. And this is the result of well-planned communication and outreach policy to reforms in education with various groups. The chairman drew the attention of the roundtable to experience in education reform in Poland. "In Poland this reform taught in schools, building teachers 'environment' - ZAZnachyla Lily Grinevich. According to her, a mandatory part of the communication project should be cooperation with the media. "The media must learn how to talk about reform in education. Media attention should be paid to what awaits our children, "- said Lily Grinevich.
